Find Relief Naturally With A Reiki Healer

By Beverly C. Ralph

Natural, alternative and homeopathic genres of healing are becoming increasingly popular. It may be that they are non-invasive, pain free and do not have unsavory side effects that make them attractive to so many. Session with a reiki healer could be very beneficial to people with a variety of conditions.

Based on the belief that we all have a spirit power residing inside of us, this is a Japanese healing technique. The name combines the words Rei, meaning "universal life or higher power", and Ki, which represents "energy". Used in conjunction they translate into "life force energy", which is something that is believed to give the individual the power to self heal their body and their soul.

This practice is not associated with any specific system of belief, not is it based on a particular religion, though it is very spiritual in its nature. To use or perform this technique, there is no requirement to follow a set dogma. The power to used transferred energy to heal can work even when the client does not entirely have faith in it.

During the sixty to ninety minute session, the client may either sit comfortably in a chair or lay down on their back upon a table. It begins with a discussion on the individual's main concerns, specific issues and them expressing what they hope to achieve by undergoing this type of healing. With this information the practitioner is able to focus the energy on key areas to target those things which were mentioned.

Clients are generally requested to wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing that does not bind or restrict. The individual remains fully clothed throughout the session, but the lighter and freer the garments are, the more smoothly the exchange goes. Physical contact is rarely ever made between the client and the practitioner, with only light touches when deemed necessary.

The practitioner starts proceeding through a routine cycle of hand movements beginning at the client's feet of head. These standard actions are meant to direct their energy in a way to balance the individual's chakras and help them relax. Focus is then placed on the specific areas of concern, directing the energy towards removing the problems and negativity.

This type of practice lays no claims of being a cure for any illness or disease, although it is often used as a treatment for many conditions. Some of these include anxiety, stress, high blood pressure, insomnia, headaches, pain, addiction, asthma and detoxification. This technique has many people satisfaction and relief from a bevy of physical and mental concerns.
